Panorama Time

The steelband music Panorama is one of the greatest musical events on the planet.  Tomorrow the music extravaganza will be held in Trinidad and Tobago at the Queen's Park Savannah. The competition as always, will be fierce.  The stage is set.  The bands are ready.  The fans are ready. At the end of the semi-finals in the large bands category Phase II has taken lead, with defending champions Exodus in second place.  Super groups Desperadoes, All Stars and Renegades are in third, fourth and fifth respectively.  US-based youngbloods Liam Teague and Arddin Herbert lead Skiffle Bunch and Invaders into the competition at positions six and seven.  And Redemption Sound Setters from the island of Tobago enters in the eighth position.

Popwell shared his thoughts on drawing the number one slot to perform in, and also spoke about the enjoyment of the musicians as they went through their paces while executing Winston Bailey's, aka the Mighty Shadow, 1994 smash "Dingolay." "The players are singing along, by now they know the whole tune," said Popwell, adding that everyone was having "fun" which he deemed a key component in the success of the band so far.
