Desperadoes in Performance
Classic Music Video Spotlight

In February of 2004 WST broke bread with one of our esteemed members of the When Steel Talks  global steelband family, the legendary Desperadoes Steel Orchestra.  Hailing from Laventille, Trinidad - Desperadoes invited WST to capture one of their final panyard  performances as their group of one hundred and twenty players -  practiced before taking the stage for that year's steelband music panorama competition.  The tune is 'Whap! Cocoyea' - the arranger is the late great Clive Bradley.  Enjoy this classic performance.

On 'YouTube' WST Steelband Music Video Channel

Almost one year ago, Dominica was the toast of the steelband music world as they hosted and participated in the OECS Junior Steel Pan competition.  It was a thrilling experience as youth steelbands from all over the Caribbean came to Dominica to participate in the event. Here is a video clip of Dominica's performance.
