Pan Masters perform at their 2009 Jamboree
North Brentwood, Maryland, USA - Join the Pan Masters Steelband Organization (PMSO) on Sunday May 27th for an evening of treasured music on The Steel Pan by some of the top bands on the east coast. The lime starts at 2:00 p.m. The venue will complement a traditional outdoor setting for Pan music lovers and enthusiasts along with food, craft and live entertainment until 10:00 p.m.
This year’s Jamboree will feature:
- CASYM Steel Orchestra from New York
- Oasis Steel Orchestra from New Jersey
- Saint Veronica’s Youth Steel Orchestra from Baltimore, Maryland
- Pan Royal Single-Pan Band from New York
- Multi-Cultural Performing Arts Youth Steel Orchestra from Virginia
- Pan Masters Steel Orchestra from North Brentwood, Maryland
A “One Love Mission” for the past 27 years has empowered Pan Masters to successfully embrace this Jamboree as a tool to develop and encourage cross-cultural programs within the community. Additionally many sponsors, partners, volunteers, and musical arrangers have helped the organization foster programs to educate youths and adults in Caribbean arts, crafts, culture and teach them the art of “playing” the steel pan.
