Trinidad All Stars on stage for semi
finals panorama |
Trinidad - In
what has to be considered one of their strongest
performances in years, the defending panorama
champions, Trinidad All Stars came up one point
short in the eyes of the judges of repeating
their championship ways.
The renowned Trinidad All Stars, considered
one the top steel orchestras in the world
entered this year's competition with the song
"Thunder Coming" sung by Chucky and composed by
Edwin Pouchet & Alvin Daniell as their tune of
choice.
Coming into the final round
of the competition Trinidad All Stars were the
favorites after leading the pack in both the
preliminary and semi final rounds. Indeed,
Trinidad All Stars had a small but comfortable
7.5 point lead after the semi finals, going into
the finals. Trinidad All Stars'
performance was nothing short of awesome in the
semi finals. Standout veteran arranger
Leon "Smooth" Edwards provided Trinidad All Stars
with a musical piece that was consistent with
their trademark "All Star" clean sound and high caliber
tight performances.
The Trinidad All Stars
community which has a very large dedicated fan
base worldwide, sensed and prepared itself for
another journey down victory lane, and with ample
reason. Trinidad All Stars has placed in
the top three positions in the panorama finals seven
times in the last eight years - an
incredible feat in any arena or forum, that is
a tribute to the organization's consistency, greatness
and commitment to excellence.
Although in the end Trinidad All
Stars was edged out by a single point (481:480) at the
2008 panorama finals by the 2006 champs Phase II Pan Groove,
their performance will go down as one to
remember.
