Reigning champions La Horquetta Pan
Groove topped the Semi Final round
of the National Panorama Single Pan
Band competition on the evening of Saturday
February 6 in front of Victoria Square,
Port-of-Spain.
Performing at position 28 out of 32,
the Arima-based steelband wowed both
patrons and judges with Duvone
Stewart’s arrangement of “Fire
Coming Down” composed by Austin
Lyons, to score 265 points.
In second place were NLCB San
Juan East Side Symphony and Arima
All Stars. Both East bands tied with
257 points.

Seventeen (17) bands will proceed
to the grand finals on Friday February
12 at the Lord Kitchener
Stands, South Quay, Port-of-Spain - along with the
ten (10) finalists in the Small
Conventional Band category.
Draw for playing positions for Final
night will take place Tuesday 9 February at CNMG
(Caribbean New Media Group), 11A
Maraval Road, Port-of-Spain. Bands’ representatives in the Small
conventional steel orchestra and Single Pan Bands are to be on
location at 9:30 a.m. for the “live”
draw on television, half an hour later.
