You're listening to a shorten sample audio of  Sonatas as recorded by Basement Recordings in their yard before panorama.

New York Steel Band Panorama History

Great concept -- the Report Card.

I truly am proud of your website and at times wonder, are there others of this nature existing -- in the Middle East, the African continent, Yugoslavia, Turks and Caicos, on the moon?

Where has pan reached? And why are there still this abundance of problems attached in the 21st century, even in "mecca" of pan -- T&T?

As a human and social development guidance counselor, motivational speaker and pan consultant, managing my own improvement consultancy company -- The Platinum Mind -- for twenty-one months now, in Trinidad, I am very concerned and take special interest in lifestyle and behaviour.  A stickler for constant and speedy improvement.

In my book, no longer is there room for change not being able to happen overnight.
    And when is overnight?

Over a period of five decades for some and some, it seems to me, an eternity.
"Girl, yuh cyah change de world.  "Yuh ent see, yuh cyah straighten dem bent trees?  "Dey cyah change.  "Pan cyah reach nowhere."
    All balderdash, in my book.

Firstly, "can't" never factors in my head, neither does the "bent trees" syndrome.
Those are ingredients to the recipes of SURRENDER, STAGNATION and FAILURE.

So as usual,  I read and enjoyed.  And my comments are as follows.

Kudos for the reporting system and the quality.  Significantly improved since having asked me to be the point-person in T&T year before to provide feedback on our Panorama activities.  But now establishing my company and lack of cooperation from respective steelband management did not permit me the time of day to deliver.

I see it starts with a devil and yes, the "Devil" take toll, but we create...

    Orchestras

Let ADLIB know, nothing is wrong.
These are the challenges that must be faced and overcome and, burdens to bear to ensure improvement. But more importantly, what is each of their understanding of what is expected of each of them in helping with their improvement process.

All hats off to CASYM, but is each one or anyone enjoying financial freedom through the art form?  That should be addressed.
As a group, maybe the core-group, how do they hope to achieve that status without total dependency on the State?  What is their understanding of the regimens and disciplines attached to professional and financially successful pannist?

    CROSSFIRE. I love the approach.
"... life after Panorama" and there must be life after Carnival as well.
Consider an outbreak of some kind and the Carnival season is cancelled, then what?

PANTONIC: Is this the final night performance picture?  If so, kindly advise them that as stars/icons, marketing an art form, themselves, a community; investors love to invest in total quality.  As such, uniformity, oneness or sameness -- image, plays an integral role in building reputation.
    Quality breathes quality.

I love the name SESAME FLYERS.  This name can do wonders for the band and the community in which it resides, if only they could understand its potential.  Take a page out of Sesame Street and create their own yearly community educational steelpan project aimed at significantly improving lives and behavior of young people within the vicinity of the pan theatre.  Let them know there must be "life after Panorama".

SONATAS - despite the inefficient sound system, they still emerged second place in the competition. What did the judges hear?

WIS. Can we source a female drummer to complete the picture?  And, what will the women think of a line of designer Pan underpants/briefs for men aimed at helping encourage safe sex, with the tag line - Taking care of our sticks, use the right rubbers.
THERE IS LIFE AND PAN AFTER PANORAMA/CARNIVAL

In the event that during the post mortem all failed areas did not derive a solution. I thought I should assist.
    • In order to improve upon, when beginning to plan for next season's activity, start planning from the problems of last season's event and ensure all failed areas are matched with a solution (s).
    • Work with a check list
    • Always try and stick to the cut-off period for the completion of each area of the plan and record plans B & C on the check list or plan chart.
The 'joke" ".... a matter of opinion"  in my view speaks to a mind that clearly has no inclination to move forward. A body that should be promptly removed from the event.

    The Michael's don't have it?
To ease the strain on the two Michaels, who were seen running back and forth ensuring things were in place, should it be assumed that they do not have a team to spread the responsibility?  As the saying goes: Expect the unexpected, a bit of pro-activity, should one Michael faint or have an emergency that creates a sudden void, then what?

Pertaining to the timing of the show.   I also think it was done in excellent time --- help T&T!

Fantastic, Keep it up. You can only go from strength to strength.
