Bradley's New
York Musical Gems
in The Pavilion
Global -
Last year master steelband arranger Clive Bradley, the undisputed king of New York steelband panorama competitions, provided the world with two musical gems that turned out to be his 'going-away present' to the pan world - "Darlin'" with D'Radoes Steel Orchestra and "Action" with Pantonic Steel Orchestra.
In capturing the never-before-done, first and second positions in one of
the world's première steelband music competitions, Mr. Bradley again
showcased for all the world to see, his brilliance and genius.
Basement Recordings captured these two masterpieces as part of its annual New York Pan Yard series DVD. The 2005 edition will again feature the great NY bands with upwards of 100 musicians performing their panorama selections in their respective yards just days, and in some cases, mere hours, before the competition.
In addition to Bradley's Pantonic and D'Radoes masterpieces, the 2005 edition of the Pan Yard series DVD features music works from Yohan Popwell (Sonatas), Pelham Goddard (Marsicans), Arddin Herbert (CASYM), Brian 'Bean' Griffith (Crossfire) and Freddie Harris, III (Sesame Flyers).
The When Steel Talks audience gets a sneak preview of the 2005 series via the internet version of these stellar performances and arrangements in Bradley's Pavilion. The first entry is D'Radoes playing "Darlin'" as arranged by the late great Clive Bradley. Enjoy!!
