Global - In the interest of clarifying questions/concerns raised, please note the following:
The same five (5) songs will be used in all categories and the duration will be:
Soloists – 4 minutes approximately.
Duos & Quartets – 5 minutes approximately.
The accompaniment/musical tracks will be released to registered musicians on Monday 1st June, 2020 @ 10am AST, and to other musicians who register by deadline date Wednesday 3rd June, 2020 @ 6pm AST.
N.B. Due to the number of participants, the decision was taken not to broadcast the preliminary stage of the competition as the duration would be very time consuming.
However, the names of semi-finalists in all categories will be announced on Sunday 14th June, 2020 @ 6pm AST.
The duration of the songs will be:
Soloists – 4 minutes approximately
Duos & Quartets – 5 minutes approximately
The background/accompanying musical tracks of the 5 new songs for the semi-final and final stages will be released on Wednesday 10th @10am AST.
The semi-final performances will be aired on the following dates:
- Soloists - Saturday 20th June, 2020 @ 8pm AST.
- Duos - Sunday 21st June, 2020 @ 6pm AST.
- Quartets - Monday 22ndJune, 2020 @ 8pm AST.
Results will be announced at the end of each category.
The rationale for the airing dates as mentioned above is to give each category the opportunity to be highlighted.
The ten songs used in the semi-final stage will be used in the final stage of the competition. The final performances for all categories will be aired on Saturday 27th June @ 8pm AST. Results will be announced at the end of the competition.
Note: All other information as stated in the rules issued on May 12th remains the same.
