Katzenjammers Win Pan in the 21st Century 2008

Trinidad - Tobago’s Katzenjammers walked away with the $60,000. first prize for Conventional Bands in the recently-concluded TSTT Pan in the 21st Century/Down Memory Lane on last Friday at the Queen’s Park Savannah.

With a grand total of 276 points, the band from Black Rock, Tobago, wowed the judges and audience alike with their scintillating performance of “When You Tell Me That You Love Me” arranged by Edwin Pouchet.

In second place with a ten point difference was TCL Group Skiffle Bunch. Their tune of choice was Chuck Mangioni’s “Feel So Good’. They were followed by another South band, Pan Elders in third spot. They amassed 263 points for their rendition of “No One Remix.”

In the Single Pan Band category, Marsicans of Mausica Street, Arima, playing “Into the Night” scored 264 points and $20,000. In second and third places were Scrunters Pan Groove (261) and Pan Family (258) respectively.

TSTT Pan in the 21stCentury/Down Memory Lane was recorded “live” and will available on CD and DVD towards the end of the week at advertised outlets and at Pan Trinbago Head Office, Park Street, Port of Spain.
