Trinidad &
Tobago - The Trinidad & Tobago Defence Force Steel Orchestra has been
invited to participate in the
Holland Voorthuizen Military
Tattoo from May 4–15,
2010.
Nine hundred performers from Canada, England, Scotland, U.S.A., Poland, Oman,
France and the Netherlands are expected to take part in this, the eighth edition of
the tattoo.
The Trinidad & Tobago Defence
Force Steel Orchestra - the “world’s only military
marching steel orchestra” is among sixteen (16) participating bands. These
include The Regimental Band of the Lincoln & Welland Regiment (Canada), The Band
of HM Royal Marines Scotland, The Pipes & Drums of the Royal Artillery, Musique
des Equipages de la Flotte (France), The Representative Orchestra of the
Pomeranian Military District (Poland) and Fanfare Korps Nationale Reserve
(Netherlands).
The performances promise to be bigger and better than ever before. “Not one, but
three days in a row, Voorthuizen will be one to watch for tattoo lovers all over
the world.”
Five performances will be held on the 6th, 7th and 8th of May. “Tribute to the
Veterans” is the theme. This tattoo is aimed at honoring the veterans one final
time in a way they will never forget and is part of the national program for war
veterans.
It is anticipated that thousands of veterans and a minimum of five thousand
Canadian students will be coming to the Voorthuizen to watch the Military
Tattoo.
