Marcus Prince (27) is a panist (tenor) from the country of Trinidad and Tobago. He is a Berklee College of Music Alumni who has been playing the Steel Pan for fourteen years. He was introduced to the instrument at his primary school and was part of the school’s steel orchestra.
In 2015, he completed the Artist Diploma in Music Performance from the University of Trinidad and Tobago where he was under the tutelage of Leon Edwards, Akua Leith and Seion Gomez. Marcus then received a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Music Performance in 2020. Whilst there, he sat under the tutelage of Grammy Award-winner trumpeter Terence Blanchard, Grammy-nominated saxophonist Tia Fuller, and vibraphonist Ed Saindon.
He is the Musical Arranger of Restorers Enhancement Foundation, a community-based NGO which he has been a member of since the age of 11, and co-owner of Tamar Music Academy.
