Trinidad
& Tobago, W.I. - It is
the turn of the nation’s Junior National
steel orchestras to be in the
spotlight in a music showdown, the
first round of which
runs February 21—24, 2011.
Some forty-seven bands in the
Primary (18), Secondary (15), and
Non-School (14) categories
registered to be part of this year’s
Ministry of Education National
Junior Panorama 2011 - being held in
collaboration with Pan Trinbago and
the Pan in Schools Coordinating Council.
On Monday, the Diego Martin Boys R.C. School in North Trinidad kicks off
the qualifying rounds of
performances at 9.30 a.m. All
the bands will be adjudicated at
their schools or panyards. At
stake at this stage: slots through
to the Finals in the respective
categories: 12 (Primary); 10
(Secondary) and; 8 (Non-Schools).
These final thirty orchestras move on and have
their chance of glory in the Finals
this Sunday February 27 at the
Queen’s Park Savannah beginning 9:00
a.m.
