bio“My name is Jesse Nurse from St. Lucia and I am a member of Pantime Steel Orchestra in St. Lucia. I have been working for Carnival Cruise Line as a Caribbean soloist for over eight years. I started my steelpan career at the age of thirteen.
“I have been a steelpan performing artist for over
nineteen years, and an arranger for ten years. I also
already won two Junior Panorama titles back-to-back with my
home band Pantime Steel Orchestra in
2013 and
2014.
“But as of... Panorama 2022, I have been working with the band Can-Beats SM Steel Orchestra developing the youths’ skills and techniques in being steelpan performers....
“Can-Beats SM Steel is very new to the art form and the band is still developing, but we are getting there slowly. It is not an easy job, but I have a true passion and love for this unique instrument and for the future of steelband music in St. Lucia and around the world.”
