Mathieu Borgne started piano at age seven, the drum set at
fourteen and entered the music school in Paris (“C.I.M.”) when he
was eighteen. He has been the arranger and drummer for, and
captain and band leader of, internationally-renowned Calypsociation
Steel Orchestra in France for twenty years. He has played with Trinidad & Tobago steel orchestras Tokyo, Skiffle, Desperadoes and Phase II. He arranged for Women in Steel in the 2003 New York Panorama. Again as arranger, Borgne took Calypsociation to the World Steelband Music Festival 2000. He did the same for 2015’s (ICP) International Conference and Panorama with Calypsociation.
