Our general membership has increased to a total of 53 members over the years and the hand currently has an active 17 member stage side that performs music for various functions and social gatherings. The management team compromises of a manager, treasurer, secretary, trustee and the band captain. Together with the general membership the management team fosters other subcommittees etc. The orchestra also manages a savings account in the name of “Fascinators Pan Symphony” with the First Citizens Bank of Trinidad and Tobago.
Our orchestra also aligns itself and commits itself to the betterment of the youth via the national instrumental. To this end we have partnered with the H Dorado West Secondary school and our community with whom we have enjoyed working with the teachers and members of the community. Most recently we have entered candidates into the steelpan music festival Pan is Beautiful XIII” of which they placed 10th and 8th overall in the soloist category. We are hopeful that come next steelpan festival we are able to enter all categories to demonstrate our skill levels achieve their diplomas and degrees in the art form. Due to our initiative towards exposing the youths to the national instrument we have noticed a distinct positive change in their attitudes towards interaction with their peers, teachers and members of the community.
The stage side was invited to Australia for the 2015 steelband music festival.
