The Tropical Angel Harps Steel Orchestra has been operating under its present name since 1977. Formerly the members of the present steel orchestra belonged to two separate steelbands namely, Enterprise Angel Harps and Golden Glow Tropical Melody.

Since the merger, the steel orchestra has been in the forefront of the development and promotion of steel band music in Central Trinidad. Following are the major achievements of the Orchestra in recent times:-

The Orchestra is led by Phillip Morris. The arranger is Clarence Morris. Its tuners are, Herman “Guppy” Browne, Andrew Morris, and Neville Elder. Mr. Clarence Morris was the reigning Champion Soloist in Trinidad and Tobago for the period 1982-1984.

The Tropical Angel Harps Steelband was founded in 1977 in Central Trinidad with the merger of Enterprise Angel Harps and Golden Glow Tropical Melody steelbands. The band is led by Phillip Morris and its arranger is Clarence Morris who was the reigning Champion Soloist in Trinidad and Tobago from 1982 to1984. Its tuners are Herman "Guppy" Browne, Andrew Morris, and Neville Elder. The band has toured Curacao (1989), Puerto Rico (1991), Haiti (1994), Tennessee, USA (2002, 2003) and qualified for the Panorama Finals in 2007 (5th), 2008 (8th), 2012 (10th), 2014 (10th-Tied), 2015 (6th).
