J’Ouvert City International, Inc. under the leadership of Mr.
Danville Williamson, President and Founder is proud to announce its
1st J’Ouvert’s Launching of our Carnival celebration
2008 and its 15 years of Presentation of Awards and Trophies for the
winning bands at the Brooklyn Borough Hall.

JCI is the organizers of the J’Ouvert Parade on Labor Day morning
in Brooklyn which is best described as the beginning of the Labor
Day Carnival. This historical event attracts over a million people.
On that day 18 Steelband Orchestras and 14 Masquerade Bands
organizations come together to enchant spectators with their
beautiful costumes and mesmerizing them with unique sounds of the
steelband orchestras.
JCI also holds 6 competitions for the best Steelband Orchestra,
Masquerade Band, King and Queen for the year. As customary the
winner will receive monetary prizes and Proclamations from Elected
Officials.
