join them in
preserving
the art form
proudly
referred to
as PAN as
they
celebrate DC
Carnival’s
7th
Anniversary
of Pan
Jam at
the Cross
Roads
Entertainment
Complex
parking lot
in
Bladensburg,
Maryland on Saturday
June 20,
2009 from
2:00 pm
until 9:00
pm.
The event is
co-sponsored
by Caribbean
Cargo-DC.
This year’s
Pan Jam will
feature:

MD

Jammers

Orchestra

Washington,

Youth

Baltimore,
MD

Pan
Majestic
Youth
Academy
Steel
Orchestra

Baltimore,
MD
The venue
will
complement a
traditional
outdoor
setting for
Pan Music
lovers and
enthusiasts
along with
food, craft
and live
entertainment.
On Sunday
June 21,
2009, DCCC
will
continue
hosting the
Dimanche
Gras Show
for judging
Junior and
Senior Kings,
Queens and
Individuals
of Carnival.
Entertainment
will include
La Musicale
Dance Works,
the Image
Band, Pan
Masters
Steel
Orchestra
and DJs.
PAN JAM and
DIMANCHE
GRAS SHOWS
are annual
events
produced by
DC Caribbean
Carnival,
Inc., a
501(C) 3
non-profit
organization
based in the
District of
Columbia.
The purposes
of these
events are:
the
launching of
the carnival
festivities
leading up
to the
annual
Caribbean-style
parade in
the District
of Columbia
called “DC
CARNIVAL;”
development
and
encouragement
of
cross-cultural
programs
within the
Washington
Metropolitan
Area
community
serviced by
DCCC in the
expansion of
Caribbean
culture,
and; the
education of
youths and
adults in
Caribbean
arts, crafts
and culture.
