Pamberi will
host a
Concert at
the Panyard
on Santa
Cruz Old
Road, San
Juan from
8.00 pm.
“REFLECTIONS-Celebration of
the life of MALCOLM ‘MALO’ SULLIVAN” is the title of the event. Admission is
free to the public.
Malcolm was a founding member
of Pamberi who passed on 5th September 2009. He lost the battle
against lung cancer. He was a Pan Instructor attached to the Ministry of
Education’s Pan In The Classroom Unit
Malcolm played Double Seconds
for the band from its inception in 1980. He performed at all Panoramas, and
Steelband Music Festivals that the band has performed at during the ensuing
years.
He was a Section Leader and
senior player who won the respect and admiration of all the players in the band.
He was a stickler for high standards in playing and a self-taught musician.
During his stewardship in
Pamberi, Malcolm performed for audiences in the following countries:

Malcolm was also an Arranger
who worked with Music Makers of Picton, Laventille; Tunapuna Girls RC Primary
School and Pamberi.
“REFLECTIONS” on Saturday,
will feature: Traditional and Modern Dance; Calypso; Rapso; Fire Eating;
Drumming and Steelband Music. Some of the featured performers are: Pamberi
(present); Pamberi (past); Wasafoli; Bombasa; Lady Paula; Crazy; Raf Robertson;
Dancaholix; Tony Felix; Anthony Bomparte; Lana Shade; Sister Ava and B Major.
The band has issued invitations
to: former players, supporters, friends and other steelbands. We have also
invited the newly elected Executive Committee of Pan Trinbago led by Keith Diaz
Sound reinforcements and
special effects lighting will be supplied by Seaton’s Electrical Lab (SEL) of
Santa Cruz Old Road, San Juan. The Master of Ceremonies for the proceedings is
“International” (Jeffrey Simon), MC at the Association of British Calypsonians
(ABC) Tent in London UK. Jeffrey is also a founding member of Pamberi and a
longtime friend of Malcolm.
