Normally when the members of the New York steelpan music franchises get together, it is in a highly charged competitive atmosphere. Today it was about one team, one objective, one opponent - breast cancer. There they were - CASYM, Despers USA, Sonatas, Pantonic, Harmony, Crossfire, Sesame Flyers and more. Always colorful, and culturally and community-spirited, the Brooklyn-based steelpan contingent could be easily distinguished has they brought the sound of steel, iron and rhythm to the walk.
