Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Golden Hands has just completed an exciting and motivating two-week audition process for its staging of the first I AM PAN National Steelpan Pageant in 2014.
Initially, the steelband music franchise’s decision was to present the eight most outstanding steelpan musicians who were interviewed. However, this number has been expanded to twelve because of the keen interest of Trinidad & Tobago’s young panists.
The steelpan musicians selected are:
- Malikha Bishop
- Latifah Sky De Coteau
- Keston George
- Keon James
- Cathy Ann Joseph
- Ionaire Joseph
- Jorder Naomi Lewis
- Cherisse Pierre
- Desiree Seecharan
- Sachelle Thomas
These panists will participate in their first workshop, at the Naparima Girls’ High School Auditorium on Saturday 13th September, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in preparation for their grand appearance in the I Am Pan National Steelpan pageant.
The pageant, which will also honour legendary Master Steelpan Builder and Tuner, Bertram “Birch” Kelman, will be held at the National Academy for The Performing Arts, South Campus, on Sunday, October 5th 2014 at 7:30 pm.
Persons interested in attending the workshops may do so. The entry fee for the workshop on Saturday 13th September is TT $21.
