Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Two steelpan activities with the youth as the target audience will take centre stage this weekend.
In the North, the Renegades Youth Steel Orchestra will present its First Annual Extravaganza on Saturday 20 August, 2016, at the St. James Amphitheatre, Western Main Road, St. James between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The exciting program—for the youths and produced by the youths—include Junior champion steel orchestras St. Francois Girls’ College Steel Orchestra, St. Margaret’s Youth Steel Orchestra, Trinidad All Stars Youth Steel Orchestra and hosts Renegades Youth Steel Orchestra. There is no cover charge for this event.
In the East at the LH Pan Groove Pan Academy, Neville Jules Crescent, Phase5, La Horquetta, LH Pan Groove will be hosting a Youth Steelband Jamboree also on Saturday 20 August 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The steelpan activity will feature San City Junior Steel Orchestra, Exocubs, BATCE (Bishop Anstey & Trinity College East) Steel Orchestra, Golden Hands, Invaders Junior Steel Orchestra and LH Pan Academy.
There will be several incentives at this event for participating bands including the opportunity to host a similar event at their panyard during the year.
Patrons are not left out as they too will be eligible for giveaways at both events. There is a small admission fee of TT $40.00. for adults whilst children will be admitted free.
Pan Trinbago Inc., the parent body encourages the young promoters while recognizing the need for events such as these, more so, as the association celebrates the 24th edition of Pan month.
The Pan community is invited to come out to lend support to these events
and enjoy the immense steelpan talent while fostering the continued
growth for future generations.
