The Art - Just What the Doctor Ordered:
A creative outlet for the Arts, Pan and much more

Scenes from The 333 Lounge

Brooklyn, New York, USA - It was real cold - well below freezing outside in Park Slope, Brooklyn, on what had been a Fall evening, but inside 333 Lounge the temperature was rising. The Art—an organization that is dedicated to providing new and upcoming artists of all ages, a way to promote their work, their genius and their art—was in the midst of its maiden event. And they did not disappoint.

At the 333 Lounge, artists exhibited different styles and genres of talent across various media (from cupcake layouts to decorated tiles, to fashion) - embracing and showcasing the creative process in a way not normally seen. In addition, there was recognition that art can exhibit itself in many different formats and styles, techniques and fashions - in one forum.

Also to be savored was the spoken word, rap, poetry, dance, the art of food layout, imagery, comics and portraits - just to name a few.  All on display, promoted and celebrated.

This is all the brainchild of Jamal Roberts. He is the man with vision and a plan of action which he executed with aplomb... Himself an artist, Jamal understands all too well the challenges and obstacles that an emerging artist of any genre and discipline experiences... And in this regard there lies his initiative to facilitate artists' ability to network, showcase, share, promote, educate and make available their business offerings to the public.

Pop-Up Art at the 333 Lounge - brainchild of Jamal Roberts

Turning the 333 Lounge into part-art gallery, part-expo, part-performance stage, part-classroom and part-business/conference setting was an act of brilliance by Mr. Roberts. It was transformed into a creative space for business, artistic expression, entertainment and education. It was many things to different (a wide cross section of) people all at once.

Already talking about expansion, Roberts sees on the horizon the inclusion of more of the performing arts and music performances in the future like standup, taking advantage of technology and expanding the base through live streaming to create an immersive experience for audience and visual arts through VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality).

The visual arts are art forms such as ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, plastic arts, photography, video, filmmaking, and architecture. Many artistic disciplines (performing arts, conceptual art, textile arts) involve aspects of the visual arts as well as arts of other types.

The emergence of The Art is extremely welcome news particularly for the steelpan music community, which has been plagued with insufficient and ineffective marketing and performance opportunities/venues that both access and straddle a wide, diverse cross-section of the artistic community.

The Art has all of the makings of becoming a dominant player in this arena going forward. The opportunity for the artists to showcase their products and talents to the world, through a vehicle that is for the artists, and by the artists, is simply outstanding.

The sky is not the limit. There is no limit. Looking forward to the next event by The Art.
