LYRICS

Verse 1

She promised me - for the carnival
She'd dance with me - in the festival
I went to town - riding on a rhythm
I went to town - ah looking for ah chance
And there she was  - looking nice and pretty
there she was - she bawl when she see me

Chorus

woy, wowee, woy - woyee woy...

Let's Dance - got to make it merry
Let's Dance - got to make it happy
Let's Dance - got to have a good time
Let's Dance - got to have a nice time

Verse 2

I feeling the rhythm - inside of me soul
I feeling the rhythm - me blood running cold
I feeling the rhythm - inside of me head
I feeling the rhythm - me eyes getting red

Chorus

Let's Dance - got to make it merry
Let's Dance - got to make it happy
Let's Dance - got to have a good time
Let's Dance - got to have a nice time

woy, wowee, woy - woyee woy...

Verse 3

I feeling good - like a good man should
I feeling like -
Bacchanal time- all over the country
Carnival time - everybody happy
Party start - see a drunk man leaning
The party start - everybody screaming

Chorus

woy, wowee, woy - woyee woy...

Let's Dance - got to make it merry
Let's Dance - got to make it happy
Let's Dance - got to have a good time
Let's Dance - got to have a nice time

Verse 3

I feeling the rhythm - inside of me soul
I feeling the rhythm - me blood running cold
I feeling the rhythm - inside of me head
I feeling the rhythm - me eyes getting red

I feeling the rhythm - inside of me soul
I feeling the rhythm - ah losing control
I feeling the rhythm - inside of me head
I feeling the rhythm - me eyes getting red

Chorus

Let's Dance - got to make it merry
Let's Dance - got to make it happy
Let's Dance - got to have a good time
Let's Dance - got to have a nice time

Party time - got to take a wine
Party time - I hope you don't mind

Ah come to town - to free up meh body
Ah come to town - I want to be happy
Ah steelband pass - I want to be jumping
Ah brass band pass - I got to be bumping

woy, wowee, woy - woyee wo-ee...

Let's Dance - got to make it merry
Let's Dance - got to make it happy
Let's Dance - got to have a good time
Let's Dance - got to have a nice time

I feeling the rhythm - inside of me soul
I feeling the rhythm - ah losing control
I feeling the rhythm - inside of me head
I feeling the rhythm - me eyes getting red

Let's Dance - got to make it merry
Let's Dance - got to make it happy
Let's Dance - got to have a good time
Let's Dance - got to have a nice time

Winston Bailey, "The Shadow" first shot into prominence in 1974 with his monster hit "Baseman" a calypso that has found its place in the annals of calypso as one that evoked a frenzied atmosphere, a range of human emotions and imagery.

1974 became a time when no one wanted him to leave the stage after his performance, the encores were innumerable and the people's desire insatiable.

Bailey has transformed his act from the enigmatic, unrestrained fireball on stage. Other young performers such as Ajala, for whom he has become an idol, now take up the mantle.

The Shadow of 1997 was a more pensive and spiritual individual but continued to be a charismatic performer; who in his songs try to reflect the realities of life, the suffering, the pain, the conscience of his people. He has given us much to think about in his songs as "Poverty" "Everybody's Somebody'" The Story of Life," "Survival Road," and "Dingolay."

A successful recording artiste, Shadow has had many moments of glory, he has gained recognition among his people and abroad.

Competitions are no longer his focus. He prefers to sing to audiences who would listen to his messages, which deal with issues that affect the society and his visions of a better world order.

Shadow’s music is being performed during the 2012 Panorama season, selected by Siparia Deltones as their tune of choice. Carlton “Zanda” Alexander arranges the track featured here, Let’s Dance aka Naked Riddim as Siparia Deltones competes in the large steel orchestra category.
