The Harvard Harps Steel Orchestra is a small conventional steel band, which was formed in1992 by Carl Daly and the late Lenigan Barnes, and is based at The Harvard Sports Club, 106 Tragarete Road in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.

From the initial stage of walking with racks to eventually their own 40ft. trailer, this unsponsored group has performed every year since its inception. Although small in number, the band has never ceased to impress the judges at the J’Ouvert morning “Bomb” competitions thanks to the musical arrangements of past arrangers - the late Steve Dupres, Junior Pouchet and Douglas “Dougie” Redon.

In 2013 this small group did extremely well placing 1st at the Renegades Panyard Bomb Competition on Charlotte Street, 2nd at the Port-of-Spain City Downtown Carnival Committee Bomb Competition held in front of City Hall, and 3rd at the Pan Trinbago Bomb competition at Victoria Square in Port-of-Spain.

Harvard Harps continued in its positive tradition took a further, bold step in entering Trinidad & Tobago’s National Panorama competition for the first time in 2014.  The band continues to attract players and looks forward to a long and prosperous future.
