Can Promoters and Steelband
Association Deliver the Goods?

New York - The expectations of the steelband music performing community and the listening audience are again extremely high for the 2006 New York panorama. The steelpan artists are still looking for a visually and technically, award-winning production that is worthy of, and that can approximate and support - the musical mastery and stunning live performances, they - the steelpan artists themselves - deliver at the Big Apple event. This year's event is dedicated to Clive Bradley who epitomized musical excellence; he himself was the consummate performer.
Look for the New York steelband association and promoters to finally deliver a product that is worthy of the efforts of steel orchestras performing at this Saturday's show. In spite of the mammoth musical feats accomplished by the late great Mr. Bradley, last year's event yielded no memorable recordings or documentation of Mr. Bradley's genius and historical final accomplishments. Presumably, that irrevocably lost opportunity spurred the steelband association and promoters to take competent and corrective steps that will ensure the existence of the panorama steel orchestra performances from 2006 onward, so that they are be available for the future generations to learn from and experience. Perhaps this is the greatest Bradley tribute the New York steelband association and promoters could bestow on the steelband community.
