Woodbrook, Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Tuesday September 24, 2024, features a J‘Ouvert celebration of steelbands ‘On the Road’ for Republic Day in Trinidad & Tobago. As the organizers—music organization Invaders Steel Orchestra—celebrate the tenth edition of this event, the theme is the “Pirate Invasion.”
Multiple bands from Woodbrook expected to perform include: Invaders Steel Orchestra, Starlift Steel Orchestra, Phase II Pan Groove, Desperadoes Steel Orchestra, TTPS (Trinidad and Tobago Police Service) Steel Orchestra, Power Stars Steel Orchestra and D’Brimblers.
In addition to sweet pan, expect ole mas and traditional characters, just as in the traditional J’Ouvert celebrations at Carnival time.
Event is organized annually by Invaders, this year with an advertised run time of 4:00 a.m.–8:00 a.m. A.S.T. Starting point is Invaders’ panyard at 147 Tragarete Road, then winding through the streets of Woodbrook.
