Pan in the 21st Century Prelims begin with Tobago’s Our Boys and Katzenjammers steel orchestras

Renegades Steel OrchestraTrinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Adjudication for 2010’s Pan in the 21st Century begins Wednesday 12 May in Tobago with Our Boys and Katzenjammers Steel Orchestras.  Katzenjammers were champions back in 2008 when they triumphed with their performance of Edwin Pouchet’s arrangement of When You Tell Me That You Love Me. Skiffle Bunch Steel Orchestra from south Trinidad is the defending champ, with Katzenjammers coming in third with another Edwin Pouchet arrangement of - that time around - To Love You More.

The panel of four judges will travel to the sister isle of Tobago to begin the exercise which will ultimately see the selection of twelve steel orchestras for the finals on Saturday 29 May at the Jean Pierre Complex, Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.

On Wednesday, Our Boys and Katzenjammers will perform “Go On Girl” by Ne-Yo and “I Promise” by CeCe Winans, respectively.  Our Boys’ venue is their pan yard at Kirk Street, Scarborough while Katzenjammers’ is Black Rock. Starting time is 7:00 p.m.
