20th Century Steel Band sample featured in Kanye West′s new Donda album

Global -  The song kicks off with an a cappella sample of 20th Century Steel Band′s 1975 cut “Heaven And Hell Is On Earth.” Jennifer Lopez used the same sample to open her 2002 hip-hop hit, “Jenny From The Block.” The sample also appears in “Heaven or Hell” by Salt-N-Pepa.

The original track “Heaven And Hell Is On Earth” was written by Trinidadian Michael “Bubbles” Olivier, the director of the  20th Century Steel Band. Oliver's start in steelpan was with the famed Pan Am North Stars. He was part of the band when they collaborated and toured with fellow Trinidadian - pianist Winifred Atwell, and recorded the album “Ivory and Steel.”
