About Mum & Me Production

Panist Earl Brooks, Jr. performs at The Fashion Life tour
Mum & Me Production is a premium Caribbean lifestyle brand by mother-daughter duo Jolanta Kissoon Young & Laura Kissoon. The initial collection “Pan and Carnival on D Runway” was launched in 2024 for New York Fashion Week. The duo continues to create pop up fashion shows with Caribbean excellence curating Carnival, High Fashion, and Steelpan while promoting Caribbean inclusivity and diversity. The brand garnered attention back in Trinidad & Tobago with their Cultural Ambassador Earl Brooks, Jr. who opened playing pan during Carnival Panorama weekend.

Lance Pollonais
The first collection “Pan and Carnival on D Runway” powered by the Fashion Life Tour for NYFW spring collection 2024 was sold out and received raving reviews. The duo returned the same energy to the Minnesota State Fair 2024, partnering with a 3-piece percussion set, Pan Dimensions and Mr. Lance Pollonais. There was a recreation of Peter Minshall’s timeless 'Hummingbird,’ originally constructed for his sister Sherry Ann Guy.
Kicking off the collection in New York is always a wonderful tradition for Mum & Me Production. It means they have done something right by bringing Caribbean inclusivity and diversity to the fashion industry and modeling world which was missing. What makes Mum & Me Production unique is that their work with emerging designers to give them a platform to shine and understand the business of fashion and not feel alone in the process.

Gold & Red = Love - by Alexis Martinez, The Fashion Life Tour
The duo Mum & Me Production has been featured in Newsday and Caribbean Beat Magazine, as well as on Caribbean Airlines—the national airline of Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica—and a billboard in Times Square. This aligns strongly with Minneapolis’ Twin Cities appreciation for diverse cultures and creative expression. The premium Caribbean lifestyle brand returns to NYFW to showcase a spectacular party on D runway, bringing this unique cultural fusion to a broader stage and surprises.

Mum & Me Production preserves Trinidad & Tobago’s cultural heritage, especially the Steel Pan and Carnival energy. The runway shows merge traditional and creativity, celebrating designers, performers, and cultural enthusiasts. The mission is to educate, entertain, and inspire cultural heritage and pride, fostering a connection to the spirit of Carnival.
An exclusive preview of the collection and interviews with the designers will be available at the New York Fashion Week, Saturday September 13, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. EST. This event provides a compelling story for readers interested in fashion innovation, cultural expression, and the celebration of diverse creativity.
