New York's CASYM Steel Orchestra
recorded some of their best musical works in 2004. Captured and
produced by Basement Recordings, the group's CD has become a staple in
the steelpan music genre, and displays their versatility and gives some
insight into their varied repertoire. This compilation is entitled
D' Blueprint
and from that CD, this edition of
Cool Steel
features the orchestra's performance of
"Feel So Good"
as it's opening track.
The selection from the last edition of
Cool Steel
which got the most votes, submitted by email to
panradio@panonthenet.com, was "All
Night Long" by
Trinidad & Tobago's Hatters Steel Orchestra.
Voted in at #2 was "Wake Up Everybody" by
Utopia Pan Soul: the Next Generation from New
York; Trinidadian Courtney Jones, now based in Austria, rounded off the top three with "Guantanamera."
