Grenada's representative at the 2005 World
Steelband Music Festival, New Dimension Steel Orchestra,
playing the test piece, the late Lord Kitchener's
"Pan In 'A' Minor"
was recorded by Basement Recordings as they rehearsed for the
competition. That selection
accounted for most of the emails received in regard to the
last program's playlist.
Voted in at #2 from the USA was
Pan Rebels Steel Orchestra with Garvin Blake's arrangement of "Fire
Coming Down". Trinidad's
Harmonites Steel Orchestra rounded out
the top three. They performed Kenneth 'Guppy' Brown's
arrangement of Baron's classic "Tell
Me Why." It was their 2005 Trinidad & Tobago national semi-final,
'live'
competition performance.
Keep those emails coming in!
