Happy Birthday to Athie Martin

Global  - When Steel Talks (WST) extends Happy Birthday greetings to veteran steelband performer and educator Athie Martin of Dominica. 

Based in Roseau, Dominica, Athie has played pan since he was 12 years old; in later life he has played jazz and classics on pan, while also educating the young up-and-coming pan players of Dominica.

He has also played pan on several albums of Dominican artistes including Michel Henderson and Cornell Phillip, and has produced a Christmas album together with his brother Julie, and Cornell Phillip.

Athie’s steelpan instruments (tenors and double seconds) - were built by H Guppy Brown.
