Kion Robinson is participating in ‘PanoGrama 2021.’ His instrument was made in 2015 by Herman Guppy “Brown” and tuned by Augustus Peters.
Kion Robinson (BSc, AAs), is currently an Arranger/Musician from Trinidad and Tobago. He has worked with the Sangre Grande Cordettes, La Horquetta Pan Groove, The Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) Steel Orchestra, and the St. Margaret’s Boys Anglican Steel Band over the years. His commitment to and love for the steelpan and music have fueled his ambition as he has progressed from steel pan player to section leader, captain and now arranger.
He is currently pursuing a Masters of Music in Steel Pan at Northern Illinois University. However, he currently holds a Bachelors of Music degree in Music Education, an Associate degree in Music Performance with First Class Honours from the College of Science Tertiary and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago as well as Grade 111, 1V, V from Associate Board Royal School of Music.
Winning the National Panorama Finals (Small Conventional) in 2017 is one of his greatest achievement thus far, along with two second places, two fourths, a fifth and three tenth placements over the years in the Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama Finals. In the future, he intends to focus on becoming a Musical Director/Musical Consultant/Lecturer in the field of Music with Education being the primary area. He intends on applying his continuing growth and wide-ranging expertise, exposure, and experience. Kion Robinson is the father of two beautiful children, Kianna and Kaiser Robinson, who are both musicians.
