Shaquille Forbes has returned to participate once more in PanoGrama, having reached the semi-finals in 2021. His instrument then was a ‘loaner’ Tenor from Skiffle Steel Orchestra, and tuned by Andy Neils.
Shaquille Forbes is a young man born and raised in south Trinidad and Tobago. Shaquille was three years old when he started playing the steelpan introduced to him by his grandfather, and played his first Panorama at the age of eight. Shaquille joined Skiffle Steel in the year 2007, where he started playing the Tenor, then moved to the Double Seconds/G-Seconds and is currently the drummer.
Shaquille is pursuing his Bachelor of Fine Arts in the Performing Arts at the University of Trinidad and Tobago, and he aims to foster his generation to love and appreciate the steelpan. In 2020, Shaquille decided to take the road to become a soloist, and his first competitive experience was the “D Bess Pan” competition held by CNC3 in 2021, where he placed 2nd.
