Saxophonist, Arranger, Composer
Hailing from the twin republic of Trinidad and Tobago Daniel is a performer, recording artist as well an arranger of many genres of music. His unique voice on saxophone sooths the ear and invokes emotions through the harmonic and rhythmic medium. A firm believer in storytelling, he is a poet with composing/arranging and his approach to improvisation.
A product of The University of the West Indies with a Bachelors in Music (Special) hons. he is a firm believer in passing on knowledge through teaching and has been working with the Holistic Primary School and birdsong Academy since 2013.
As a sideman he
has performed with Tia Fuller,
David Michael Rudder,
Ken “Professor”
Philmore, Len “Boogsie”
Sharpe, Machel Montano,
Etienne Charles and Arturo Tappin. Additionally, he has
been featured on several albums/projects locally and
internationally.
A culturally driven artiste, Daniel actively works along
with Temperature the Band in the field of providing
arrangement and mentorships to sustain the brass element in
Calypso and Soca. A 2020 Brass Festival (Trinidad) winning
arranger he continues to widen his scope of his ability to
create and keep the presence of live brass alive.
Though the National Panorama competition will be the first time he has been chosen to arrange for the birdsong Steel Orchestra in this magnitude, he is no stranger to the Steelband community. Having worked alongside birdsong from 2013 to present he has been given the opportunity to consistently refine his arranging and playing through birdsong.
Daniel continues to stay driven to make an impact in society through music and is grateful for the growth this new chapter will bring.
