Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Seven steel orchestras are in pursuit of the title of Panorama champion in the annual ‘Pan Alive’ steelband music competition. Six are determined to dethrone title defenders Pan Fantasy Steelband which is going for its twelfth consecutive title, each one of those victories achieved with the band’s resident champion arranger, Al “Allos” Foster.

Forest Creek Pathway Steel Orchestra is the first band up for the night. Showtime is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. EST (Eastern Standard Time); doors open one hour earlier at 6:00 p.m. Pan Fantasy defends its title from the penultimate position, playing sixth. Venue is Lamport Stadium, 1155 King Street West, Toronto, Ontario.

Redemption Sound Setters Steel Orchestra from Tobago is the guest artist at the event; its arranger, Micheal Toby, is also arranging for Toronto’s New Dimension Steel Orchestra in the competition. Pan Alive is produced by the Ontario Steelpan Association (OSA).
