Life Time Achievement Award

Neville Jules, the legendary former leader of Trinidad All Stars, will be the recipient of the 2007 Abstract Entertainment, Inc. "Life Time Achievement Award".  Mr. Jules is simply one of the most important and historically significant figures of the steelband movement.  Abstract Entertainment will honor Neville Jules' genius, contributions and commitment to the development of the steelpan music instrument. Innovator, pioneer, musician, arranger, composer and leader - are all words used to describe the many roles Mr. Jules has played with excellence, in the development of the steelband instrument and the movement.  

The Abstract Life Time Achievement Award recognizes individuals for their contributions that have assisted in the development, or perhaps revolutionized a particular movement in some way, shape or form.   Mr. Jules will be the third recipient of this annual award.  Past recipients are  2006 - Mr. Patrick Thomas,  and 2004 - steelpan great Emmanuel 'Jack' Riley and drummer extraordinaire Max Roach.

The award will be presented at the annual Steel Pan Jazz Concert in New York on Father's Day weekend [Saturday June 16th] at the House of Jazz at Lincoln Center.  The event will feature music icons David Rudder, Robert Greenidge and Ralph McDonald.

Steelpan Jazz comes to the House of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City as Abstract Entertainment presents it's annual Father's Day weekend show.  This year's concert will feature internationally famous vocalist David Rudder, veteran steelpan master Robert Greenidge and famed percussionist/recording artist Ralph McDonald.  This annual concert is one of the world's most sought after steelpan music events.
