Steelpan Jazz Concert at the House of Jazz at Lincoln Center
Sold-Out Concert Leaves Locked-Out Steelpan Music Fans Anxious and Scrabbling

Steelpan Jazz Concert sold-out.

Brooklyn, New York - Clearly, the place to be and seen this weekend if you are remotely connected with steelpan music or celebrating Caribbean Heritage Month is at the House of Jazz at Lincoln Center.  Abstract Entertainment's sold-out Steelpan Jazz Concert will be in full effect.  If you are a savvy visitor in town for any prestigious Caribbean-related event, then the crown jewel on your list of activities would have been this pan jazz show.

It is the annual gala where the steelpan music elite and fraternity gather, interact, converse and renew old acquaintances and forge new associations.  Some of the greatest steelpan musicians on the planet will be there - not to mention the steelpan honored historical giants  and pioneers.  It is the event  where all the upper management of steelband originations (residents, captains, arrangers) and key personnel and decision makers are found.  Educators, students, historians and the most discerning connoisseurs of steelpan will be there, hanging on to every music note played while simultaneously savoring the great moments for future story telling that will last for the ages.

The audience will be large, knowledge in all aspects of Caribbean culture and dressed 'to the nines' - particularly the women whose dress attire will rival and challenge even the best dressed red carpet attendees of the Grammy's, Oscars, Tony's and  Emmys.  Moreover, it is one of the best Father's Day presents a dad can receive.

Unfortunately, for those steelpan music enthusiasts who did not purchase their tickets early, the concert has been sold-out for two weeds.  Hopefully, a second show will be added next year to address the additional interest.

This year's concert presents the internationally famous David Rudder and the Caribbean All Stars, and features world-renowned and veteran steelpan master Robert Greenidge, and famed percussionist and recording artist Ralph McDonald.  The coming together of these major music talents under the auspices of Lincoln Center is indeed an historical moment and achievement.  These three musical iconic giants have become legends in their own time.

Far be it for When Steel Talks to start rumors, but based on inside info that has come our way on next year's Abstract Entertainment 2008 Father's Day show line-up - it would be wise for all to inquire about reserving a seat now.  It's going to be sold out again.
