Basement Recordings captures over three decades of Brooklyn steel orchestra panyard recordings - rocking it, with the likes of Clive Bradley, Robert Greenidge, Pelham Goddard, Len “Boogsie” Sharpe, Garvin Blake, André White, Duvone Stewart, Freddy Harris III, Andy Akiho, Arddin Herbert, Ken “Professor” Philmore, Seion Gomez, Yohan Popwell, Terrance “BJ” Marcelle, Kendall Williams, Lyndon Spencer, Collins Jackman, Patrick Davis, Odie Franklin, Marc Brooks, Kareem Thompson, Keith Roberts, Joseph “Franklyn” Gerald, Al “Allos” Foster, Damany James and Leon Foster Thomas, among others.
A special “Big Up” and “Thank You” to all those New York band leaders, managers and captains who from day one were always in our corner and gave us, Basement Recordings, complete access and freedom to do our thing over the decades. With only the knowledge that Basement engineers were all Brooklyn pan-men too, you allowed us to capture and showcase the brilliance, genius and magic of the music of the New York steel orchestras panyard performances to the world on a level never seen or heard before, and in many cases, since.
