When Steel Talks - Feel the Music - Live the Experience

A special “Big Up” and “Thank You” to all those New York band leaders, managers and captains who from day one were always in our corner and gave us, Basement Recordings, complete access and freedom to do our thing over the decades.  With only the knowledge that Basement engineers were all Brooklyn pan-men too, you allowed us to capture and showcase the brilliance, genius and magic of the music of the New York steel orchestras panyard performances to the world on a level never seen or heard before, and in many cases, since.

Special thanks to the late Glenda Gamory, Mack Scott, Clyde Durant, Anthony “Pra” Trebuse, Brian Joseph, Junior “Man” Samuel, the late Martin “Dougie” Douglas, Anthony “Big Tony” Joseph, the late Joey Horsford, Jerry Guy, Keith Marcelle, Albert “Bing” Reid, Sherwin “Pin” Edwards.

Tuners -- the late Mikey Enoch and Wallace Austin, “Birch” Kelman, Emmanuel “Jack” Riley - for understanding forever is a very, very long time. The sound is for now and forever in these recordings, and they treated the instruments under their care, like gold. History will ultimately judge you by the sound of your instruments and quality of your recordings.

Yamaha Corporation of America -- allowing us to take your equipment places; to unexplored mental and physical boundaries, beyond expectations and allowing our voice (boys in the hood) to truly become part of the next generation.

And of course, the players - who understand that the live sound coming out of the sound system on Panorama night does not represent the sound of a New York Panorama-class steel orchestra.
