St. George’s, Grenada, W.I. - It is indeed going to be a ‘Pantastic Saturday’ for steelband music lovers who will be on hand to take in ‘live,’ the country’s annual steelband Panorama which unfolds at the National Stadium on Saturday 6 August. The musical action is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m. EST (Eastern Standard Time).
Eight steel orchestras are vying for the title of Panorama champions. Defending its title is Commancheros Steel Orchestra which drew the first playing position this year. Seven fellow competitors are eager for the chance to dethrone Commancheros. Champion co-arrangers Andre “Maestro” Greenidge and Mikiel “Pan Guru” Smith are determined to keep the steel orchestra in the top spot at the end of the night.
