Launch of the Canadian Federation of Steelpan

Ontario, Canada - The Canadian Federation of Steelpan (CFS) invites media representatives to attend the Official Launch for this national organization whose mission is to promote education, collaboration, communication and awareness around the art form called “Steelpan.”  The Canadian Federation of Steelpan will also work with local organizations to produce Steelpan Festivals across Canada.

The Steelpan is a truly unique instrument –among the most recently invented instruments. It is indigenous to the island of Trinidad and Tobago. The Steelpan can be used to showcase both technical ability and the versatility of the musician who use the Steelpan to present highly-orchestrated classical pieces.

Media representatives are invited to attend and learn how we will educate the public about steel pan, and provide seminars for those interested in learning about this wonderful instrument.

Entertainment will include live Steelpan performances. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and international treats will be offered along with a complimentary bar.

The Canadian Federation of Steelpan was formed in June 11, 2011 to provide a means for individuals interested in the Steelpan across Canada to connect, collaborate, support and educate the public about the art form called Steelpan.
