WeBeat is indigenous to St. James. It started as an event in commemoration of the 63rd anniversary of St. James being incorporated into the City of Port-of-Spain in 2001.

One of the major features of this program is the “honoring of St. James residents” who have made sterling contributions in their field.  2012 Honorees are Denyse Plummer, Keith Simpson and Daniel “Trinidad Rio” Brown.  Mayor of Port of Spain, Alderman Louis Lee Sing, is the Patron.
