It was the first time that most of the audience, comprised of teaching staff, students and family members were hearing the sound of sweet steel. The professor couldn’t believe the melodious sound coming from an oil drum and wondered if he were listening to a piano.

The band had been invited to perform at the ‘Meet in Beijing Arts Festival’ 2014 from May 1 to 3. The performance at the university was a private performance arranged by its hosts, the China Arts and Entertainment Group.

Dylan Yuk Low performs at the Trinidad & Tobago Embassy in China
The previous day, the band paid a courtesy call to the Trinidad & Tobago Embassy to visit Ambassador Chandradath Singh. One of its players, Dylan Yuk Low, played some short extracts from its repertoire on His Excellency’s tenor pan.
The Pop Music Festival takes place at Chaoyang Park on May 1 and 3 with the Latin America and Caribbean night on May 2.
