Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - Sixty-six individuals and steel orchestras will receive awards in thirteen categories when Pan Trinbago Inc. hosts its Annual Prize Distribution & Awards Function. The event, which will be staged for the first time in South Trinidad, is carded for The Naparima Bowl, on Tuesday 26th August 2014 from 7:30 p.m.
Winners of the National Panorama, Trinidad & Tobago National Steelband Music Festival – Pan Is Beautiful XII (all categories) and recipients of Special Awards will be honored at the function. The feature address will be presented by Alderman Kazim Hosein, Mayor of San Fernando. Other speakers include Hon. Dr. Lincoln Douglas, Minister of The Arts and Multiculturalism, Byron Serrette, Acting President, Pan Trinbago, and Richard Forteau, Secretary, Pan Trinbago.
Apart from the formal proceedings, there will be entertainment by Joshua Jabari Bedeau, winner in the NSMF Soloist category, Pan Elders Steel Orchestra, winner Medium Category Panorama and Darren Sheppard & Fuzion, one of south’s finest steel & jazz ensemble. The evening will end with cocktails.

Sydney Gollop Award to Pioneers – Patrick Drayton, Stephen Drayton, Meadows William, Trevor “Kabu” Gibbs, William Nancis, Jessey Lessey, and David Balbosa.
Majorie Padmore Award to Women In Steel – Franka Hills-Headley, Myrtle Robinson, Keisha Codrington and Rosemary Abraham.
Pan Trinbago Awards – Dennis Phillip and Aquil Arrindell.
From its inception more than a decade ago, Pan Trinbago Awards was established to celebrate the successes of steelbands, individuals, the continued contribution of groups and companies and the promotion of the art form.
The Pan Trinbago Awards Ceremony is one of the signal events in Pan Month that’s celebrated in August.
