Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - In recognition of their highly successful musical venture to the 2015 International Panorama competition (ICP) held in Trinidad and Tobago, the City Council of New York honored Brooklyn Steel Orchestra (BSO) with a City Proclamation. The group was presented with the proclamation at New York's City Hall before the start of the February 24, 2016 session. Presenting the award to the group was City Councilman Jumaane Williams. The councilman congratulated the BSO on behalf of the City of New York and thanked them for representing the Big Apple and the USA so admirably.

Representing BSO were Martin Douglas, Travis Roberts, Kernel Simon, Wayne Bernard and Leah Wilson. After the proclamation was read, the group received hearty applause from all present at the session.
Last August the Brooklyn Steel Orchestra earned a score of 452 points out of a possible 500 total at the International Panorama. With this tally they tied for 4th place with the world-famous Phase II Pan Groove, out of a field of twenty-two fellow competitors. BSO was also the highest-placing out of twelve foreign orchestras participating in the ICP competition.
