The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission (ABFC) has
officially launched the State Insurance Company Limited Panorama
2026 season, marking the occasion with a $165,000 contribution
to the Antigua and Barbuda Pan Association following the
successful staging of Pan in the City.
The cheque presentation took place during the official launch
event and represents the final installment under a three-year
agreement between the Festivals Commission and the Pan
Association aimed at supporting and strengthening the steelband
movement across the country.
The launch follows the success of Pan in the City, which
transformed Redcliffe Street into a vibrant cultural hub as
thousands of patrons gathered to enjoy performances from all
nine of Antigua and Barbuda’s steelbands.
....Chief Executive Officer of State Insurance Company Limited,
Aarion Nicholas, said the company remains committed to
supporting the traditions and institutions that contribute to
national development.
“Panorama is more than a competition; it is a celebration of discipline,
creativity, community pride, and cultural excellence,” Nicholas said. “We
are proud to continue our partnership with the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals
Commission and the Antigua and Barbuda Pan Association as we help preserve
and grow the steelpan movement for future generations.”

Global - With profound
regrets When Steel Talks is sad to share news of the passing of
the honorable, great and legendary panist Robert Greenidge on

supporters from the very start.
Robert is simply one of the greatest musicians to have ever
touched the steelpan instrument.

Facebook got it wrong - Meta World and WST & SteelPan Are Friends Again
Facebook “Likes” sends PanOnTheNet Apology - “We got it
wrong”
Metaverse - Facebook got it wrong. About
three years ago without warning or reason all WST (When Steel Talks) steelpan-related
accounts fell out of favor with the social media giant Facebook now known as
Meta and its aligned consortiums (Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp). Because
WST has all of our material hosted on our own shared servers, this ‘tag’ was
not incurable or as problematic as it could have been. However, it was annoying
to have people seeking critical steelpan music info diverted by Facebook AI
(artificial intelligence).
