First up on this Cool Steel  edition is composer, lyricist, pannist and vocalist Gregory Boyd with the title track from his CD, Rich In A Troubled Time.  Featured on the program is the remixed and re-mastered CD single, which has a POP/AC flavor.  Boyd is originally from New Orleans, USA, but now makes his home in Denmark.  There's more information available here on the artist, and his original composition showcasing his vocal abilities, in addition to his steelpan skills, is the first track on Cool Steel:  "Rich In A Troubled Time."

The selection from the last edition of Cool Steel  which got the most votes, submitted by email to panradio@panonthenet.com, was "Africa" by Desperadoes Steel Orchestra from Trinidad  & Tobago.   Voted in at #2 and #3 respectively, were Sound Specialists of Laventille also from Trinidad & Tobago, with "Morning Dance,"  and the United States/Hawaii-based Universal Language featuring Chili Charles on steelpan, with "Orion."
