Pantonic Steel Orchestra - “Stranger” - (‘Panyard’ version - Audio)

Clive Bradley - Arranger

Brooklyn, New York, USA - This is considered by many to be Master arranger Clive Bradley′s best New York Panorama arrangement and one of the elite Panorama arrangements of all time. The tune is Shadow’s 2001 composition “Stranger” performed by Pantonic Steel Orchestra.

This is one of only two panyard recordings (audio captured in a band’s panyard) made by Basement Recordings in 2001. The other was Pan Rebels. Basement was engaged in preparation for capturing the USSA (United States Steelband Association) 2001 Panorama, providing live sound reinforcement for that same event, and producing the worlds first Panorama DVD and New York Panorama CD.

An extra effort was made for these two steel orchestras in order to maintain their continuous streak of panyard recordings by Basement. Twelve orchestras participated in the USSA Panorama competition in 2001..

Pantonic would go on to win the 2001 USSA New York Panorama competition held at the Thomas Jefferson High School field.
