Pan Trinbago will announce the
Semi Finalists (Conventional Bands) in Sunday’s
“Savannah Party” tomorrow Wednesday 31st
January 2007 at The Engineer’s Room, Port of Spain
City Corporation, Knox Street, Port of Spain, at
10:00 am
A
total of 131 steelbands in four categories, Small,
Medium and Large Conventional and Single Pan Bands
performed their Panorama selections in the
preliminary round
The
announcement comes at the end of six nights of
consecutive panyard judging before separate
adjudication panels for each category and zone
throughout Trinidad & Tobago. Tunes of choice
ranged from vintage and traditional to current for
places in the two semi final rounds. The 16 Large
Bands were not judged but will proceed to the semi
finals on Sunday.
Conventional Bands are asked to send a
representative to witness the opening of the score
sheets at City Hall on Wednesday morning.
Draw for playing positions for the National Semi
Finals on Sunday will be held the following day,
Thursday 01st February at Pan Trinbago,
14-17 Park Street, Port of Spain. This leg of the
competition kicks off on Sunday at 9:00 am with the
Small Band category.
In
other related news, Single Pan Bands Semi Finals
will take place
on Saturday 10th February
at Victoria Square, Park Street,
Port of Spain starting 7:00 pm. Thirty two
(32) bands are expected to face the adjudication
panel. Admission is free to the public.
